Our Females

Our Elite German Shepherd Breeding Females

The German Shepherd Females, we chose to use in our breeding program, pass all of our strict requirements, before being considered for use.

Once  a dog’s temperament meets our requirements, we certify their hips and elbows through the OFA or SV a stamp program. A German Shepherd should only be used with ratings of “Good” or “Excellent”. Many choose to use “Fair” ratings, we believe this policy would allow deterioration of lines and in order to better the breed, higher ratings should be demanded.

They are used to work the sheep on our farm and/or personal protection along with obedience demonstration dogs for our classes and public events. The German Shepherd Dog is very versatile, ours can work on the farm all day, then relax on the couch and cuddle at night. Our girls enjoy being around their family members as well as their flock of sheep.

A German Shepherd, by nature, should be aloof/not fearful, confident, not overbearing, protective but not aggressive. It takes knowledge and years of studying genetics and lines of dogs to be able to put together dogs that will produce these qualities. It also takes commitment to the breed and the community, to be willing to raise a dog, put in hundreds of hours training and socializing, not to mention the expenses, and still be ethical enough to make the decision not to use it for breeding if it can not pass the above basic requirements, that all German Shepherd Dogs should possess.
